Play Therapy and Counselling Services for children
Neuro-relational, nature-informed therapeutic support for children 0-8, adolescents and families in Victoria's Macedon Ranges
Pioneering Excellence in Nature based Play Therapy
Some children aren't built for sitting still. They learn through movement, think through action, and regulate through play — not by staying in a chair. Traditional settings often label these children as problems. We see them differently.
Axis Therapeutic Services provides specialist early intervention for young children during the critical developmental window of 0-8 years, particularly those presenting with ADHD symptoms, sensory-seeking behaviour, and difficulty in structured environments. We also support adolescents navigating similar challenges, and families learning to work with their child's nervous system rather than against it.
Our approach integrates neuro-relational play therapy, attachment theory, and nature-informed practice — therapy that happens outdoors, through movement and play, not in a clinical room with expectations to sit and comply. We work with children of all abilities, including neurodivergent children, using approaches that respect each child's unique brain and nervous system.
CHILDREN
Early intervention for children 0-8 with ADHD traits, big emotions, and bodies that need to move. Therapy happens outdoors, through play — no sitting still required.
PARENTS
Coaching for parents learning to support a high-energy, sensory-seeking, or dysregulated child — building connection and co-regulation without constant battles.
FAMILIES
Family therapy for households navigating ADHD, behavioural challenges, and the stress that comes with them — including support for siblings and parents.
Neurodivergent-Specialised Support
If your child has been told they're "too much" — too loud, too active, too intense — you're in the right place. We work with children who can't access traditional therapy because it asks them to do the very things their nervous system struggles with: sit still, make eye contact, use words on demand.
Our therapy happens in the bush, through movement, sensory play, and child-led exploration. No waiting rooms. No clinical offices. No compliance-based expectations. Just space for your child to be themselves while we support their development, regulation, and confidence.
This is what evidence-based early intervention looks like when it's designed for how neurodivergent brains that actually work.
